First Lady, ESOCS Church, CAN Light up Christmas Tree in Abuja

The First Lady Dame Patience Goodluck Jonathan, the Christain Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the national headquarters annex of the Eternal Sacred Order of the Cherubim and Seraphim joined the rest of the Christian community in Abuja and the nation at large to light the year 2013 Christmas Tree.
The event which took place at the Unity Fountain located in front of the popular Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, also had in attendance, the Honourable Minister of State, FCT, Oloye Olajumoke Akinjide who hosted the tree lighting ceremony. Others were  the Catholic Arch Bishop of Abuja Diocese, His Eminence, John Cardinal Onaiyekan, the FCT Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, other clergymen from different denominations as well as very important dignitaries in the Christian community, members of the diplomatic corps, and other distinguished personalities from different walks of life.
The Head of Ecumenical Committee in ESOCS Abuja Province who doubles as the FCT Chairman of the Organisation of African Instituted Churches (OAIC), Special Senior Apostle (Dr.) Osas Abu Agbonavbare led the delegates from ESOCS Church and the OAIC to the event which had in attendance
According to the Chief Host, the event is aimed at lightening up Unity, Peace and Progress in Nigeria as well as Christian community.  There were Christmas Carol renditions from the Professor Igwe Laz Ekwueme Choral Orchestra and the Nigerian Police Band. A word of exhortation was taken by His Eminence John Cardinal Onaiyekan.
The event culminated with the cutting of the cake and then lighting of the Christmas tree which was done by the First Lady of Nigeria, Her Excellency, Dame (Dr.) Patience Goodluck Jonathan, supported by selected personalities.
